El Sablón beach and San Pedro promenade
Chapter 6/7 · Llanes
We reach El Sablón beach, a shell-shaped beach right in the town. Its name comes from the Asturian word for sand, sable. Next to it is the San Pedro promenade.
The San Pedro promenade is a natural grass path above the cliffs, with views of the Llanes coast and the Cuera range. It was built in 1847 and is part of a coastal path that reaches San Antolín. The beach lies next to a stretch of the wall.
Now we return to the harbour, where we began. It is the longest stretch of the walk: a little over a kilometre, about 14 minutes on foot.
