Plaza de la Constitución and Town Hall

Chapter 6/9 · Oviedo

This is the Plaza de la Constitución, home to the Town Hall and the church of San Isidoro. The town hall was designed in 1622 by the architect Juan de Naveda and the works were finished in 1671.

Notice that part of the old city wall and the former Cimadevilla gate were reused, which is why you can walk under the tower. The clock on the tower was added in 1940.

Just a step away, the Plaza del Fontán awaits.
