Capitán Palacios Square

Chapter 3/8 · Potes

This is Plaza del Capitán Palacios, with its bandstand and views of the Torre del Infantado. Under the Puente de la Cárcel the Deva and Quiviesa meet: one of the most photographed views of Potes.

The town’s name is linked to the Latin «Pontes», the bridges, according to Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España. Potes was declared a Historic-Artistic Ensemble in 1983.

We enter the old town along Calle Cántabra.
