Marina / Yacht Harbour

Chapter 2/9 · Gijón

We have reached the marina. Locals affectionately call it El Muelle. It sits right at the foot of Cimadevilla, the oldest quarter of the city.

The conversion into a yacht harbour began in the nineteen eighties, with the first pontoons. Since the first of January, two thousand six, it has operated under a private administrative concession for twenty-five years, under the Port Authority of Gijón. The offices are in the Antigua Rula building, on Claudio Alvargonzález street.

Look at the water, the boats, and the houses climbing the hillside. From here the next step is short: Plaza del Marqués, where Revillagigedo Palace awaits. Let’s go on.
