Casa Mori

Chapter 2/9 · Luanco

This is Casa Mori, a small gem of Art Nouveau in Asturias. It was commissioned by an emigrant who had made his fortune in Cuba and designed by the architect Manuel del Busto, who finished it in 1902.

Look at the round bay windows on the upper floor, held up by slender columns and topped with ceramic domes, and at the decoration framing the windows. In the garden there is a wooden dovecote, and at the back there are wooden galleries in the Asturian tradition. It is a private house: please admire it from the street.

We continue to the Clock Square, in the heart of the old town.
