This is the Casa del Reguero, which the Town Council considers the oldest building in town. According to several sources it was built in 1613. For years it was the Juan de Mairena House of Culture, and after its renovation at the end of the 20th century it lost much of its original look.

It is one of the few houses with a coat of arms in the municipality. On the main facade, under a gallery on wooden posts, it displays the arms of the Casariego family: a golden tower on a green field. Its shape, square in plan, two storeys high and with a four-sided slate roof, recalls the rural manor houses of Galicia, whose influence is felt all along this coast.

The name Juan de Mairena has a story: he is the character invented by the poet Antonio Machado, the imaginary teacher of his writings, and in Tapia a square bears his name, as a plaque on the old schools recalls.

We continue a few metres west, to the small chapel of San Blas.
